Love the walking and the challenge that we will have on the way with all the people involved. I lost a very close friend to suicide two years ago that affected me quite badly.

I have close friends and a family member who have suffered through mental health and PTSD and have seen what these charities can do to help people cope with these issues.

Obviously the first thing we need are donations but if we can get people to try and look at these charities and understand what they do and hopefully we can learn and possibly see the signs when people need help.

I have taken part in charity events/challenges for arund 10 years however most of these have been solo events being part of a team raising money for two great charities as part of community unit rather than by myself is a nice change.

I enjoy the comradery within the team. The two charities this year are two fantastic charities and I feel compliment each other perfectly.

We have either suffered with a mental health issue ourselves or we all know someone who has. With 2020 panning out as it has with the pandemic the issue of mental health has become even more important.

Inspired by a group of friends and I really enjoy walking so I thought why not? The charities do a lot to help positively affect people’s lives, without these charities a lot of people would suffer alone with no help.

Every little helps so if I can do something I enjoy to help make a difference to other people’s lives I will happily take on a challenge.

Then after speaking to them I was told the opportunity had come up to participate in an even bigger challenge and I jumped at the opportunity, not only to challenge myself but to do something really worthwhile with a great bunch of lads and good friends, I’m really looking forward to this experience

In a few sentences please sum up why you are taking part in the next walk and what it means to you.

People who do things for others “just because they can” inspire me, our community when joined together as a community, have proved amazing things can happen. If I can be part of that positivity and in some way positively influence others then I am very driven by that.

I also have the utmost faith in the walking team who I consider brothers, they have shown that they have the determination and commitment to selflessly challenge themselves for our charities and community as a whole, their drive and enthusiasm is infectious and explains why we would literally travel from one side of the country to the other for each other.
